About the Course
A fever is commonly defined by healthcare providers as a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher. The body regulates its temperature through a complex interplay of various organs, including the brain, skin, muscles, and blood vessels. In the presence of a fever, the body employs the same mechanisms to regulate temperature; however, its internal thermostat is temporarily reset to a higher level.
This module aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of temperature measurement and definitions, the pathogenesis of fever, prescribing practices specific to Malaysia, and evidence-based approaches to managing pediatric fever.
This course is presented by Dr. Sanjay Woodhull, Consultant Paediatrician, Subang Jaya Medical Center.
This CPD activity is supported by an educational grant from RB (Health) Malaysia.
